ARPA-E advances high-potential, high-impact energy technologies that have too much technical risk or are too early for private-sector investment. Even though we invest in risky technologies, for the ones that do succeed, we expect them to impact the marketplace. And that is our job: helping teams get to market through entrepreneurial coaching and guidance around techno-economics, supply chain and customer development, IP and fundraising. It is a unique role and ARPA-E is not your typical government agency. In fact, one of the mandates of ARPA-E is that staff can only stay three years so that there is a constant flux of new talent and ideas.
As such, we are currently trying to hire new Technology-to-Market Advisors. Specifically, we are looking for to graduate engineering and MBA students who have had several years of work experience and have a passion for energy and technology development.
